"Merumalia, an organic winery in the Italian region of Lazio, prioritizes sustainability in every aspect of their operations. Powering their heating systems and winery operations with solar panels, recycling vine and olive tree prunings as a fuel source, and using sustainable, recycled and light-weight packaging to reduce their carbon footprint are just a few of the many ways Merumalia strives to preserve and protect the land. Giulia Fusco, now at the helm, is taking the winery in a new fresh direction. Grown in Basalt volcanic soils with no irrigation. Exposed to mediterranean winds. No malolactic. Straw yellow colour, the nose is ripe fruit pulp, peach and grapefruit, a floral note of jasmine and lavender leaves. Less than 800 cases produced. The winery is run by a mother and two daughters, with Giulia and Flavia Fusco making the wines."
