Grapes: Pinot Noir
Region: Marin County, California, United States
Distributor's Notes:
"We can’t name names, but this exceptional Marin County Pinot Noir comes from a single, steep, terraced vineyard that’s a stone’s throw from the Point Reyes Peninsula. Turbulent weather in the spring naturally reduces the yields of the vines, and the relentless wind throughout the growing season results in a crop of tiny, hyper-concentrated berries. In the glass, the wine has a saturated, dark red-garnet color. The nose opens gradually with ripe black cherries, wild raspberries, and cardamom, adding a faint suggestion of orange citrus, violets, and cola as it evolves in the glass. On the palate, the wine is juicy and vibrant, with a generous sweet core of dark red and black fruit that echoes the nose, fine “Marin coastal cut,” and a long, mineral-laced finish."
