Grape: Barbera
Region: Asti, Piedmont, Italy
Distributor's Notes:
"Gianni’s Barbera d’Asti Bosco Donne is made from 100% Barbera, fermented in stainless steel to preserve its classic varietal character. In the glass, the wine is deep purple in color with a garnet rim. The nose is wonderfully aromatic with notes of rose, blackberries and black cherries dusted with exotic baking spices. The complexity of the aromas is beguiling: after one sniff, you can't help but keep your nose in the glass to appreciate all that is going on. The palate is marvelously expressive, full of super-charged, juicy fruits and loads of refreshment; the bright acidity is deftly balanced by a soft mouthfeel, and tyhen there's that classic Asti finish: long, mineral and full of energy. The versatility of this Barbera with food is one of its greatest strengths: enjoy with mushroom dishes, roasted or grilled fish, sausage ragú, pork chops, marinated London Broil, pasta in red sauce... just about anything you can put on the table!"
