100% Merlot. Jamesport Vineyard, North Fork of Long Island. Destemmed. Inoculated fermentation in stainless steel tank with pumpover regime. Post dryness drained and pressed then barreled down into french oak (20% new) for 20 months. Winemaker: Robert Foley.

Appearance: Ruby

Aroma: Flowers, pomegranate

Mouthfeel: Smooth

Flavor Profile: Plum skin, classic merlot

Chris Nicolson says: "Jamesport Vineyard, founded by Ron Goerler Sr. and now farmed by his son, Ron Goerler Jr., and Ron Jr.’s grown children, is situated outside of Cutchogue on the North Fork of Long Island. Their handsome property, marked by shallow dells and gently rolling, grassy rises, wanders over 15 acres. It is dotted with feathery conifers and surrounded by Burgundian apple trees.”

2014 on the North Fork was a year of incredible abundance. A moderate summer (with a cool August) followed by a warm autumn brought a crop of exuberant fruit and pleasure.
