Sobrero / Barolo Riserva Pernanno 2010 / 750mL
Fruit from 60+-year old vines planted in Castiglione Falletto's esteemed Pernanno vineyard is hand harvested. Viticulture is sustainable with minimal treatments, cover crops and cultivation of beneficial insects. Fermentation using selected yeast is done in temperature-controlled stainless steel with a two-to-three week maceration. The wine rests in 25hl Slavonian botti for at least 24-months before bottling.
The Sobrero family has been making Barolo since the 1930s. They value excellent raw material, growing nebbiolo, barbera and dolcetto on favored sites in the heart of the Barolo zone. In fact, their cantina sits atop the Villero vineyard, one of the most prestigious sites in Castiglione Falletto. They are commited to sustainable viticulture and to making wine using as little intervention as possible.
