Raspay is the name of the place of the original Quiles Family vineyards. It was the dinner wine in honor of H. M. King Juan Carlos I of Spain in his first official visit to the city of Alicante in 1976, hence the presentation feature that remains today. It is made in small batches in a traditional way and then aged in old oak barrels and bottled packaging long time.
100% Monastrell from eighty-year-old vines that have grown resistant to the Mediterranean heat of Alicante. The grapes are hand-harvested, totally destemmed and lightly crushed prior to pressing. The resulting wine is complex, floral, and spicy with some hints of leather and tobacco. Delicious and ready to drink now.
It has an intense aroma, fruit jam, old wood; It is smooth in the mouth, round, ripe, hints of old wood and spices, ripe, tasty fruit.
It is an excellent complement to lamb meat, stews, rice with meat or vegetables, meats or roasts.
