Ultimate Beverage Challenge 96 points - This scotch appears a deep amber color, but the palate is rather light and lifted with flavors of orange and lemon zest and a sourdough bread malty-ness. The finish is feather-soft, clean, pleasantly sherried..April/2016
The Dalmore 15 year old is smooth, rich and well rounded; the epitome of The Dalmore house style. This delicate and approachable vintage is initially matured for 12 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then split equally between three different sherry woods - Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem oloroso - for a further three years. The character and complexity of The Dalmore 15 are acquired during this unique cask journey. The spirit is finally reunited in an upstanding sherry butt, allowing the flavours to marry.
Aroma Orange marmalade, cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste Mandarin, vanilla, ginger and crushed apples. Finish Christmas spice and oak.
Since its inception in 1839, a long line of whisky pioneers at the helm of The Dalmore distillery have been going above and beyond to create exceptional single malt. The unique distillation at The Dalmore produces a complex new make spirit which can be matured for longer and in a greater variety of casks than any other. Master Distiller Richard Paterson travels the globe to hand-select only the finest casks in which to mature The Dalmore. Building on the foundation of the great men who went before him, he continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the art of whisky making.
